Design & Reconstruction of the Damaged Areas of the Raft Comprising Breaking out of the Existing Concrete
The existing Hex rafts are constructed from cast in-situ concrete and contain surface water drains.
They are in a poor state of repair and pose risk of slips, trips and falls. Additionally the raft safety case requires the areas to be free draining with no risk of pooling of liquids.
The contract comprises the design and reconstruction of the damaged areas of the raft comprising breaking out of the existing concrete, excavation of sub base and subsequent reinstatement using granular sub base and cast in-situ concrete.
As the Hex Raft repair locations are designated as Controlled Ares (Radiation) all personnel deployed on the works are required to be Classified Workers and wear Film Badges at all times when carrying out the works.
