The area is now totally transformed into a landscaped usable feature seating and relaxing area.
The works are entirely contained within the University Campus.
Over 19,000 students and staff live and work within the site that contains both teaching/research buildings and student living accommodation all of which remained in constant use throughout the contract.
The existing site of works was a mound of earth which was to be moulded and contoured. Works included the removal and disposal of original kerbs and concrete features, isolation and removal of lighting. Earthworks operations took place to create the amphitheatre area for seating, high quality hard landscaping, seeded and turfed grasses and planted areas.
The hard landscaping consisted of resin bound paths and steps and a concrete seating amphitheatre areas enhanced by fencing and planting.
