Monkroyd Bridleway & Bridge
Project Details
Removal of Trees & Provision of Temporary Access Tracks Across Fields
The works form part of the Pennine Bridleway National Trail and are located on agricultural land off the A6086 Keighly Road in Lancashire.
Before work could commence a new access suitable for heavy plant had to be
formed off the main road. These works required the establishment of temporary traffic signals to enable the works to the temporary access and permanent Bridleway to be constructed safely.
The scope of works included the removal of trees and provision of temporary access tracks across fields, the construction of a temporary footbridge across a watercourse located in a ravine, the demolition of the existing concrete bridge and the provision of a new timber decked bridge on reinforced concrete abutments.
The contract also included for the provision of a new bridleway and the removal of the temporary access track on completion.
