Excavation of the Existing Surfacing

The project comprised improvements to the visitors car park located within the grounds of a 16th century Tudor mansion house. The property attracts many thousands of visitors from across the region and also nationally.

Works involved the excavation of the existing surfacing including hand dig in areas adjacent to the canal, installing treated timber edgings to the edge of the new macadam road surface, laying 100mm thick hot rolled asphalt base course and 40mm thick hot rolled asphalt wearing course over a geotextile membrane and complete with a tar spray and chip finish to the road surface.
