Construction of a 3m diameter PCC chamber 4m deep adjacent to an existing Humus tank. The new and existing tanks were connected using a 200mm ductile pipe. In conjunction with WH Good Ltd, William Pye Ltd designed a new pumping main within the PCC manhole to transfer Humus sludge 100m to the Primary Tanks.
The 80mm main and pump were installed by William Pye Limited and the electrical installation was carried out by WH Good.
The 2nd phase of the contract was to design and construct an adjacent holding tank. This tank was constructed from galvanised steel and was 8m long x 3m deep with a diameter of 2m. Poor ground conditions were encountered and a dewatering system had to be implemented.
